Irena Szewczyk habite à Varsovie.
Elle a commencé à créer ses haikus et haigas en 2011. 
Elle écrit en anglais, français, polonais et hongrois sur son blog

 Ses haikus et haigas ont été publiés dans de nombreux revues 
et recueils internationaux en japonais, anglais, chinois, serbe et polonais. 
Elle a gagné une mention honorable dans le Concours de Haïkus de l'Association internationale de Haïku (2011 et 2012) et dans le Concours de Haïkus du Mainichi (2013). 
Depuis 2012 elle participe régulièrement  au Concours mensuel de Haiga organisé par l'Association mondiale de Haïku. 
En octobre 2014, elle remporte le titre d'Artiste de Maître Haiga.
